About us
Creating a simpler, better railway for everyone in Britain
Great British Railways (GBR) will make the railway simpler and better for everyone.
Ahead of the necessary legislation, we need to work together as ‘one railway’ to deliver reform – to start doing the right thing now and tackle the challenges this industry faces together. Our customers and funders will not wait for GBR to see improvements – and nor should we.
So as well as preparing the ground for GBR, we are working with the Department for Transport, Network Rail, train operators and other partners to bring the sector together to accelerate and embed reform today.
At GBRTT, we act as an independent advisor and catalyst for whole railway thinking; develop tools and products that give decision-makers access to the bigger picture; act as a facilitator and remover of blockers, to unlock positive improvements.
Our goals
Our work is building towards a safer, more reliable, more accessible and more affordable railway; one that is joined up and:
Through these efforts, we are playing our part in creating a simpler, better railway for everyone in Britain, so customers and taxpayers feel the benefits.
Our commitment to making improvements that matter will result in a thriving, connected, greener Britain.
How we are held to account
Our key performance indicators (KPIs) are focused on our goals – supporting our purpose of creating a simpler, better railway for everyone in Britain.
Our KPIs ensure GBRTT is an effective organisation that is leading the culture change the sector needs, supporting its people and generating value to the taxpayer.
